Where I got my name
CØMATØSE is a medical condition where someone goes unconscious for a prolonged period of time. While in a coma, you are not aware of your surroundings, memories, or your own thoughts. Being someone who's diagnosed with OCD and medicated for it, all I do is THINK. Too many meds = Comatose. I've heard stories of people going into comas and sometimes are able to see what they think is the afterlife.
Also, CØMATØSE wasn't my first name. I've had many names before my name currently, but I eventually ended up with this one. Honestly, when I came up with the name I wasn't so sure if I liked the name or not. But I thought it stood out and I could make a background around the name. Now for where the classic part came from, I was trying to come up with something other than "official" or "the real". Too plain and overdone. Classic refers to when someone has predictable traits, such as Family Guy's "Who else but Quagmire". I like the alliteration too lol.

Fun Facts
Besides making music, I was really into sports for a longgggg time. I used to play Soccer and a little bit of baseball when I was young, then I got into Football and Basketball during my high school years. After high school, I decided to get into the gym community. Protein powders, pre-workouts, lifting belts, etc. I needed to stay active after a left sports and now I religiously go to the gym. I'm also into videogames, mostly Palworld at the moment.
Recently I've gotten into anime. As a kid I watched Pokémon and Dragonball Z (RIP Toriyama) whenever it came on, but the first anime that got me into anime was 7DS. Then I got into Naruto, One Punch Man, AOT, and MANY others. I wasn't sure about JJK, but after it won 2023 anime of the year I HAD to give it a try. 10/10.

What I use

I use FL Studio 21 as my DAW and a SHURE SM7B as my mic. I recommend using Autotechnica for a starter mic. They're cheap, a solid build, and they come in USB. I suggest the AT2020 if you have a low budget. My Audio Interface is a Focusrite Scarlet Solo, however if you have some money to spend I'd suggest the Apollo Twin.
For Packs and plug-ins, I mainly get everything from Sweetwater, Unison, and Cymatics. There are some free packs and plug-ins available that have high quality sounds/FX. I also recommend Splice if you are not sure what sounds you want. |
